ABOUT CHELLA

Renowned for their personal documentation of their experience in gender transition, Chella Man is celebrated for their motto, "be your own representation." As a deaf, genderqueer, Chinese, and Jewish individual, Chella found they didn’t have role models to look up to, and so they became a voice and a true representation for himself and for others. With over 257K subscribers and many millions of views on their YouTube video entitled "One year on testosterone: voice updates," Chella is normalizing the conversation around gender issues for disabled and LGBTQ+ youth.

  • "The event went great! Through all of our Q&A segments, there was a good conversation flow and I believe that was because Chella was so flexible and willing to just talk without it being structured. I'm very happy that Chella got to speak with our membership and student body about personal experiences...[W]e took time to watch Chella's short film The Beauty of Being Deaf and listen to them speak about their new book Continuum...Thank you so much for connecting us to Chella, and we all had a lovely evening with him."
