Physician, Public Health Leader & Admiral

ABOUT RACHEL

Dr. Rachel Levine is a trailblazing national transgender leader, one of our nation’s top public health and climate leaders, and a specialist in adolescent health and pediatric medicine. After President Biden appointed her to serve as U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health, she became the first transgender person to receive confirmation by the U.S. Senate and was appointed a four-star admiral leading the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. As Pennsylvania’s Physician General and Secretary of Health, Dr. Levine led Pennsylvania through the COVID-19 pandemic and the opioid epidemic. She spent decades in academic medicine before transitioning to public service and has been involved in HIV medicine since the early days of the epidemic. Dr. Levine’s talks provide optimism and hope for the future.
